The Rural Literacy and Self Reliance Program (RLSRP) which is aimed at empowering rural poor women has greatly contributed to building up of awareness and the development of leadership capabilities among rural women in the villages under impact. Activities include organization building, literacy and education programs and promotion of Saving and Credit Cooperatives. This program is supported by The Development Fund, Oslo, Norway

Currently, over five thousand households mostly led by women are engaged in enterprise development, leadership activities and mocro credit activities in the rural communities in Lamjung. The program has been a great success in improving the lives women and children, opening doors of opportunities for the poorest and empowering women to assert their rights in all areas - social, economic and political.
