Committee for the Promotion of Public Awareness and Development Studies (COPPADES) is a rural based non goverenmental organization registerd in the government of Nepal in 1990.

The vision of COPPADES is to contribute positively to the creation of an equitable society in the grassroots as well as to the national level that helps to the realization of social justice.

The mission of COPPADES is to promote organizational activities among women, the poorest and the discriminated grous by building up awarness among them and empowering them through economic self dependence

Its various projects are Revolving Savings Group/Program Against Poverty (RSG/PAP) implemented in collaboration with Trickle Up Program (TUP) , New York USA, Savings and Credit Co-operative (SACCO) promotion project implemented in collaboration with National Feedration of Saving and Credit Cooperatives, Strengthening Good Governance Project with SAGUN of CARE Nepal, Social and Environmental Impact Mitigation Program with CIDA Inc., LEDCO and Khudi Hydropower Project, and Basic Computer and Information and Communication Technology Project (BCICT) with World Computer Exchange, USA. While most of the projects are implemented within Lamjung District BCICT Project is implemented in several rural districts in Nepal.

COPPADES has been working as tech transfer organization of Nepal.It has developed ICT infrastructure to poor resourced rural public schools.Many remote public schools have started formal as well as informal computer education programs from class six to class twelve with the help of COPPADES since 2002.COPPADES is the only organization to go widely to remote schools to develop ICT education and connecting them to Internet and Email.COPPADES provides at minimum 5 computers,1 printer,network hub,network cables,modeam and related software CDs and trained at least one teacher of the school participating in the ICT project.COPPADES has launched a Solarpower Enabled online Educational Project for those rural schools which donot have conectivity to electricity grid of Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) to provide all in one ICT access with the cordination of Alternating Energy Promotion Center (AEPC) which supports to estabilish solar energy,Equal Access Nepal which supports for World Space Satellite Radio Multimedia Data Receiver.
